About Arkansas
It was late 2006 when Arkansas was first introduced to the NJUNS System. The AJUNS Group was founded on January 31, 2007 with Nine Founding Members sharing the cost. Those members include: AEP-Swepco, AT&T, Carroll Electric Cooperative, Cox Communications, First Electric, North Arkansas Electric, Ozarks Electric Cooperative, Prairie Grove Telephone and Suddenlink. Arkansas has grown to Fourteen Full Members and One Associate Member. In 2013 with the help of some of the Founding Members, Arkansas was able to create and produce a short video from current user's to help promote NJUNS through-out the State to help grow the Membership. One of the most useful strategies has been to offer new user's their first year of usage for free. This gives them the opportunity to see how well the system works and the cost saving benefits it can provide their Company. Arkansas One Call has been a great supporter and contributor to the growth of AJUNS in our State.
NJUNS provides two Arkansas user group meetings a year. This gives users an opportunity to discuss NJUNS and joint use related issues. The meeting dates and minutes of these meetings are posted within this portfolio.
